Contacted Capital Appliance Repair on Monday, and they scheduled a technician to arrive the next day. The technician (Victor) arrived a little before the scheduled time and went to work checking out the stove. He determined the probable source of the problem (thermostat/sensor) and ordered one. He felt it might take a couple days if one wasn't available in Ottawa. Capital Appliance contacted me later that day to say that Victor had located the part and was available to install it. I was free, and he arrived about 30 minutes later and installed the part. I am to get back to Capital Appliance if the problem continues because there is another possible solution. Victor took the time to answer any questions that I had about the problems with the stove and possible solutions. I was very pleased with the service and wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any problems.
Our electric range is 32 years old. After the recent ice storm hydro outage (April 2023), the oven didn't work but the burners did. We researched for a new range for a couple of weeks and decided instead to try to get our old one repaired because we don't want a glass top range just yet. One of the burners of my Samsung range didn't work. I called Capital Appliance Repair, and the technician came to check on the same day, identified the burner needed to be replaced, and provided me a quote for the part and labor. I felt the part was quite expensive, so I searched online and found the same part at about half the price.
