Westinghouse Dryer Repair
Dryer doesn’t properly dry clothes
When their Westinghouse dryer was not drying their clothes properly, our client in Ottawa contacted us. As they checked the power supply and ensured they followed the best practices when using the appliance, they suspected the problem was beyond the basics. As a result, we diagnosed the other possibilities. Initially, we checked the drive belt to see if the drum was spinning. Because the belt connected to the motor and was in good condition, we moved on to the heating element. We cleaned the heating element thoroughly. We then proceeded to the dryer’s blower wheel, which is the part that takes in air and converts it into hot air using the dryer’s heating element. Any cracks or obstructions, which may prevent the blower wheel from spinning, were checked on the blower wheel. We moved on to the thermal fuse after ensuring that the blower wheel was not damaged. The thermal fuse ensures that your dryer does not overheat by preventing it from overcharging. A blown fuse may cause your dryer to malfunction. The fuse was still intact- so we moved on to the motor. Upon examining the motor’s performance, we discovered that the dryer had been getting hot, but not hot enough to dry the clothes. The issue was resolved by replacing the motor in the Westinghouse dryer and running a test cycle to see if the clothes were drying. As a result of the motor change, the issue was resolved completely.
