Dryer doesn’t properly dry clothes

Our client in Ottawa contacted us when their KitchenAid dryer would not dry their clothes properly. In addition to checking the power supply and following best practices when using the appliance, they suspected that the issue went beyond the basics. This led us to diagnose some other possibilities. Our first step was to check if the drum was spinning by looking at the drive belt. We moved on to the heating element since the belt connected to the motor and was in good condition. The heating element was thoroughly cleaned. Next, we looked at the dryer’s blower wheel, which is the part that takes in air and transforms it into hot air using the dryer’s heating element. Checks were made on the blower wheel for cracks or obstructions that might prevent the wheel from spinning. After making sure the blower wheel was not damaged, we turned our attention to the thermal fuse. In order to prevent your dryer from overheating, the thermal fuse prevents it from being overcharged. Faulty fuses can cause your dryer to malfunction. Fortunately, we found the fuse intact, so the motor was the next step. When we examined the motor’s performance, we discovered that the dryer had been getting hot, but not hot enough to dry the clothes. We fixed the problem with the KitchenAid dryer by replacing the motor and running a test cycle to determine whether the clothes were drying. The issue was resolved after the motor was replaced.
