Can’t adjust heat on stove

We got a call from a homeowner in Ottawa who needed help adjusting the heat on their electric Moffat stove. As soon as we arrived, we began diagnosing the problem. Initially, we tested to see if any of the stove’s electrical components were malfunctioning. The power source receptacle is susceptible to damage caused by moisture and grease in combination. Having established that the power receptacle was in good condition, we checked the surface element switch to determine if the problem was the heating element. There was a damaged switch, resulting in the stove being unable to regulate the amount of heat being applied to the surface element. A new surface element switch fixed the issue.
